Empowering Youth: Creativity, Technology, and Leadership in Action
On December 27th, 2024, I had the honor of joining a dynamic group of speakers in Buea for a powerful restitution event hosted by Miss Hussaina Fadimatou A, a passionate advocate for gender equality, peace, and community development. The theme, “Empowering Youth for Democracy and Peacebuilding,” was more than a discussion, it was a call to action.
As a tech enthusiast, creative thinker, and founder of MCRATE-C, I contributed to the conversation by exploring how leadership impacts creativity and technology-driven youth. My session emphasized that leadership isn’t just a distant concept, it directly shapes our ability to innovate, create, and make lasting impacts in our communities.
The event highlighted several critical points:
How social media, when used wisely, can elevate youth voices and encourage inclusive leadership.
The importance of aligning youth vision with leadership to ensure their creativity and tech innovations serve their communities.
Opportunities for young people to engage in leadership roles through organizations and platforms, both locally and internationally.
Why the right mindset is essential to drive meaningful participation in democracy and peacebuilding.
The energy in the room was inspiring, with everyone bringing fresh perspectives and solutions to pressing challenges. It’s clear that with the right leadership, creativity, and mindset, young people can and will reshape the future.
This event wasn’t just a conversation; it was a step toward empowering youth to become the change-makers, leaders, and innovators our communities need.
Let’s keep building a brighter, more inclusive future, together.
